Dr. Katy Martin

Dr. Katy Martin

Dr. Martin is a graduate of the University of Minnesota–go Golden Gophers! She is passionate about cardiology, neurology, behavioral medicine, exotic pets, hospice & end-of-life care. Herding dogs and sighthounds hold a special place in her heart, thanks to her mini Aussie named Leo and Silken Windhound named Pilot.

Dr. Claire Landwehr

Dr. Claire Landwehr

Dr. Landwehr is a graduate of Colorado State University–go Rams! She is Apollo’s resident nutrition expert, but also loves preventative medicine and promoting wellness in all of your pet’s life stages. While she doesn’t have a pet yet, she is expecting to bring home a standard Poodle puppy in 2025!

Dr. Mike Walker

Dr. Mike Walker

Dr. Walker is a graduate from Texas A&M University–gig ‘em, Aggies! He opened Apollo Veterinary in 2021, named after his beloved Border Collie and his grandfather. He also adopted a cat named Pegasus (Peggy) with cerebellar hypoplasia–she lives in the clinic now, and goes everywhere with him! Dr. Walker loves surgery, dermatology, and growing Apollo Vet to be the best it can be.

Dr. Mandy Boerner

Dr. Boerner is a graduate from Texas A&M University–gig ‘em, Aggies! She is passionate about dermatology, wellness and preventative care–especially starting when they are puppies and kittens! She has two black Lab mixes named Jackson and Ellie, a domestic shorthair “queen” named Sophie, and two goldfish named Theo and Donnie.

Dr. Candace Hord

Dr. Hord is a graduate of Auburn University–War Eagle! She is passionate about surgery, internal medicine, and dermatology. And she’d never say no to a puppy or kitten appointment! She has shepherds at home–Opal the Australian and Athena the German.

Dr. Rapoli comes to us from New York, and is now a Wimberley resident along with her five pets! She’s a graduate of Texas A&M University and a huge fan of A&M football! Her favorite cases to see are surgeries, oncology, and puppies and kitten wellness exams!

Director of Operations

Meet Maria, our Director of Operations! She helps to keep the Apollo ship running smoothly between all of our locations. She also loves to jump in and help on the treatment floor whenever she is needed, making her a jack-of-all-trades! She has a menagerie of dog breeds at home–a Yorkie named Pina, a German-Shorthaired Pointer named Oakley, a Dalmatian named Pepper, and a terrier mix named Ginger (that she rescued here at Apollo!).

Client Concierge

Meet Chrissy! As our client concierge, she’s one of the first faces you’ll encounter when you walk into our South Austin hospital. Chrissy brings the intense Apollo energy to work every day, and makes every person and pet that comes through our doors an instant friend! She also does a ton of the posting for the @apollovets Instagram! She has a Red Heeler puppy named Kevin that joins her at work every day.

Marketing Manager and Community Relations

Lindsey is our marketing manager at Apollo Vet, as well as the Community Relations liaison for our whole hospital group!  She loves being a part of growing the Apollo Vet team, whether that means interviewing new team members, working with local businesses, or interacting with our clients in and outside of the clinic. When asked about her favorite part of the job, she also said that she loves doing inventory! She has a yellow Lab who is appropriately named Wimberley.

Veterinary Technician

We’re sure you’ve met Dani if you’ve been at Apollo Vet in either Wimberley or South Austin! Dani’s skills as a technician are elite, but she has particular interest in exotics, holistic medicine, and end-of-life care. She is even earning her CAETA certification to further help our clients when they’re making the tough decision to say goodbye to their pets. She has two dogs at home, Maggie and Maple!

Veterinary Technician

Meet Olivia! Her undergraduate degree in animal behavior makes her great at helping our more anxious or fearful pets when they visit our clinic. She loves getting to form long-term relationships with our clients as they continue to visit Apollo, caring for animals in every life stage, and helping out with inventory in the back-of-house! She has a Border Collie named Willow, and also fosters dogs with local shelters.

Lead Technician

Des started as lead tech at Apollo Wimberley, but has helped our new location at South Austin get on its feet! You’ve probably seen her rocking out in surgery, helping hospitalized patients, or working with our regular appointments. Her favorite kind of appointments are ears and porcupine quills! She’s got an Aussie Doodle named Stella, a Maine Coon named Putin, and a bearded dragon named Cheeto.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Rachael is a licensed veterinary technician who loves a good challenge, especially when it involves client education and helping pets live their best lives. Her favorite kinds of cases are nutrition and end-of-life care. She has three American Pit Bull Terriers named Boondock, Zeus, and Irie.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Keisha is a licensed veterinary technician who loves seeing all kinds of animals, even exotic pets! She also loves client education and staff training, helping all members of your pet’s care team to know what they need to be their happiest, healthiest selves. She has an entire ZOO at home–three cats (Buttercup, Sunshine, Tabby), a sulcata tortoise (Eleanor SHELLstrop), and a crested gecko (Geks).

Lead Technician

Lorena started with Apollo Vet as a technician assistant and quickly grew to become our hospital lead tech! She loves to help the team wherever she can, and teach/train every new Apollonaut. If your pet is ever hospitalized for the day, there’s a good chance Lorena is the tech taking care of them! Some of her favorite emergencies are rattlesnake bites and porcupine quills! She has a Yorkie named Bandit and a Chihuahua named Eevee.

Meet Lauren! As a technician at Apollo Vet, Lauren wears many hats to help our patients. But some of her favorite things to do are clean ears, dentals, and help with senior pets and spicy cats! She has six pets total at home–two cats named Meeko and Vivian, and four dogs named Luna, Coco, Squirt, and Zuni.

Veterinary Technician

Griffin started as a technician at Apollo Vet, but hopes to get into vet school some day and pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian! At Apollo, some of his favorite things to see are surgeries, ultrasounds, and cytology. He has two labs at home named Brandy and Abby, but is hoping to bring home a Golden Retriever soon!

We’re so excited to have Courtney on the Apollonaut ship! She is passionate about client education and communication, helping to build lasting relationships with new and established clients. She has the cutest Supermutt named Leia at home!

Veterinary Technician

If your dog has ever had a run-in with a porcupine, Cloie has probably helped them out! Removing quills is one of her favorite parts about the job! She also loves surgery and feline dentals. She started at Apollo as a technician assistant and quickly moved up to technician, but is hoping to go to vet school some day! She has a spoiled Labradoodle named Jolene and a cute little kitten named Stevie.

Veterinary Technician

Vianka is a dedicated Veterinary Technician with a passion for puppy and kitty exams, ear cytologies, ear cleanings, and dental care. She loves helping animals feel their best and is especially fond of her rescued mutt, Ami. With her hands-on experience and compassionate approach, Vianka ensures every pet gets the best care possible.

Anais is our fabulous technician assistant! She helps the entire staff to keep things moving smoothly on the treatment floor, and goes wherever she is needed! She especially loves wrangling our spicy cat patients, and assisting with our diabetics when they’re here for glucose curves. She doesn’t have any pets of her own at home, but she does foster kittens!

Technician Assistant

Phoebe has joined our team as a technician assistant! She loves getting to practice and develop new technical skills, and following through with our patients through their diagnostics and treatments. She also enjoys getting to see all the cool surgeries we do at Apollo Vet! She has a German Shepherd-Poodle named Scarlet and a Chocolate Lab named Fynn.

Technician Assistant/ Client Concierge

K’la is a compassionate Technician Assistant and Concierge with a soft spot for oppressed breeds—she’s always rooting for the underdog! At home, she has a lovable crew: Cassie, a Cattle Dog mix, Sally, a Chihuahua mix, and Kobe, a Russian Blue cat. K’la is also a busy mom of two, a 5-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, proving that her heart has room for both pets and toddlers!

Meet Alanna! As our client concierge, she’s one of the first faces you’ll encounter when you walk into our Wimberley hospital. She loves being able to greet all the different pets that come in, from dogs and cats to rabbits and ferrets, and even the rare goat! When asked about her favorite parts of her job, she said she loves interacting with our clients and learning more about veterinary medicine every day. She has a Border Collie mix named Tux!

Meet Sydney! As our client concierge, she’s one of the first faces you’ll encounter when you walk into our Wimberley hospital. She loves being the person who can help our clients in stressful or emotional situations, always being there to help them navigate what is going on with their pets and how the team is working to help. She is also passionate about preventative medicine and promoting wellness for your pets at every life stage. Her dog’s name is Major, a Pit Bull/German Pinscher mix!
