Dr. Walker is a graduate from Texas A&M University–gig ‘em, Aggies! He opened Apollo Veterinary in 2021, named after his beloved Border Collie and his grandfather. He also adopted a cat named Pegasus (Peggy) with cerebellar hypoplasia–she lives in the clinic now, and goes everywhere with him! Dr. Walker loves surgery, dermatology, and growing Apollo Vet to be the best it can be.

Veterinarian

Dr. Modak has been a veterinarian since 2001, although you won’t often find him in exam rooms. This appropriately nicknamed “cool guy” is passionate about helping businesses scale and doctors grow in their confidence and surgical abilities. He has a rabbit at home named Stormy!

Veterinarian

Dr. Landwehr is a graduate of Colorado State University–go Rams! She is Apollo’s resident nutrition expert, but also loves preventative medicine and promoting wellness in all of your pet’s life stages. Dr. Landwehr has a standard Poodle puppy named Argo!

Say a big hello to Dr. Maya Leifheit! Dr. Leifheit is a graduate of Midwestern University and is joining the team in our South Austin location. Her favorite cases include anything surgical (especially a quick spay or neuter) and working through behavior and training concerns with owners. Dr. Leifheit loves the collaborative atmosphere of our appointments. She feels like our clients get to be as involved as they would like to be! At home she spends time with her shepherd mix, Ginger, who she adopted from a shelter in Lubbock.

Director of Operations

Meet Maria, our Director of Operations! She helps to keep the Apollo ship running smoothly between all of our locations. She also loves to jump in and help on the treatment floor whenever she is needed, making her a jack-of-all-trades! She has a menagerie of dog breeds at home–a Yorkie named Pina, a German-Shorthaired Pointer named Oakley, a Dalmatian named Pepper, and a terrier mix named Ginger (that she rescued here at Apollo!).

Meet Allie, our newest Practice Manager at Apollo Veterinary South Austin! She absolutely lights up during healthy puppy and kitten exams and embodies our commitment to always finding a way to help every pet that walks through our doors. At home, she’s mom to Ellen, a 10-year-old Weimaraner mix she’s loved since puppyhood after her aunt rescued her from the roadside, and Buck, a 3-year-old Pyrenees mix who came from a friend’s accidental litter – proving that the best family members often come from the most unexpected places!

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Keisha is a licensed veterinary technician who loves seeing all kinds of animals, even exotic pets! She also loves client education and staff training, helping all members of your pet’s care team to know what they need to be their happiest, healthiest selves. She has an entire ZOO at home–three cats (Buttercup, Sunshine, Tabby), a sulcata tortoise (Eleanor SHELLstrop), and a crested gecko (Geks).

Vianka is a dedicated Veterinary Technician with a passion for puppy and kitty exams, ear cytologies, ear cleanings, and dental care. She loves helping animals feel their best and is especially fond of her rescued mutt, Ami. With her hands-on experience and compassionate approach, Vianka ensures every pet gets the best care possible.

Joey (or Josephine to her friends!) is a Veterinary Technician at Apollo Veterinary who thrives on helping pets through urgent and critical cases. What she loves most about Apollo is getting to know each pet and their owner, then seeing those familiar faces return as their furry friends get better and continue their care. At home, Joey is kept busy by her own crew: Rupert, Power, Snow, and Boba!

K’la is a compassionate Technician Assistant and Concierge with a soft spot for oppressed breeds—she’s always rooting for the underdog! At home, she has a lovable crew: Cassie, a Cattle Dog mix, Sally, a Chihuahua mix, and Kobe, a Russian Blue cat. K’la is also a busy mom of two, a 5-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, proving that her heart has room for both pets and toddlers!

Lizzie brings heart, hustle, and a love for all things furry to the Apollo team! She thrives in our open-concept environment where pet parents stay close and every tail-wagging moment feels personal. At home, she’s kept on her toes by Otis, her snuggle bug, and Marble, the sassy princess who keeps life interesting!

Client Concierge

Meet Chrissy! As our client concierge, she’s one of the first faces you’ll encounter when you walk into our South Austin hospital. Chrissy brings the intense Apollo energy to work every day, and makes every person and pet that comes through our doors an instant friend! She’s also heavily involved in our Apollo events and a contributor to our Instagram! She has a Red Heeler puppy named Kevin that joins her at work every day.

Facilities Manager

Dan is our fantastic Facilities Technician and a Vet Tech in training at Apollo! He loves connecting with our amazing clients and their furry family members, and he’s always soaking up knowledge from the talented team around him. At home, Dan is proudly outnumbered by his four fabulous cats—Cocoa, Gracie, Luna, and Wednesday. Fun fact: he’s been to 25 countries and has the stories to prove it!
